Digital Pressure Gauges for High-Precision, Rapid Pressure Measurement

In addition to mechanical pressure measurement methods using Bourdon tubes, diaphragm springs, or capsule springs, electronic pressure measurement with digital pressure gauges and pressure transmitters has become increasingly prevalent.

Digital pressure instruments accurately and quickly measure all relevant pressure types, even under challenging environmental conditions or in hard-to-reach locations.

Electronic or digital pressure measurement requires a sensor that detects the pressure and converts it into an electrical signal, which is then displayed on the device’s integrated LED or LCD screen. Various designs and configurations, including pressure transmitters and differential pressure transmitters, are utilized depending on the application.

Digital pressure measurement can be implemented using digital pressure gauges—also known as digital manometers—and sensors with digital displays. These digital gauges are especially well-suited for both stationary and mobile pressure monitoring. Their high accuracy combined with clear readability on integrated LCD or LED displays facilitates easy inspection and calibration of pressure-critical systems.

Sensors with digital displays can provide the measured pressure both visually and as an analog output signal (0–10 V, 4–20 mA) for further processing. Additionally, up to two switch points can be programmed, enabling the use of sensor measurements not only for display but also for triggering relays or alarms based on pressure thresholds.
