Pressure measurement devices detect the physical pressure of liquids and gases by measuring force per unit area.

Both mechanical and electronic instruments measure gauge, vacuum (negative), or differential pressure—displayed analog via manometers or digitally via pressure sensors.

Selection criteria vary depending on the application and typically include material compatibility, sensor design, measuring range, accuracy, form factor, and process connection type. The measurement principle and control function define the most suitable device.

Level sensors and submersible pressure transmitters are used for hydrostatic level measurement in liquids or viscous media, such as in water and wastewater tanks. These devices calculate the fill level based on hydrostatic pressure, using pressure as the primary sensing parameter.

The submersible probe is installed at the bottom of the tank, where it measures the pressure exerted by the liquid column. The resulting measurement is proportional to the fill level. The sensor transmits this data to a control system for further processing or display.

These probes are available in various sensor technologies, housing materials, and diameters. A comprehensive selection of standard models ensures compatibility with most installation environments and media conditions.
